corporal punishment

Filed under: student presentations — richardlstansfield @ 2:09 am

Our presentation is about corporal punishment
The view of corporal punishment at school is controversial.
Is Corporal punishment is the bond of love as some people think?
Or the is it emotional violence?
This depends on the eye of the beholder.
First, think about the necessity of punishment. Teachers need to control the students. There’s a proverb “One rotten apple spoils the barrel”
Students live in a small communal society at school. Then One or two of those who spoil the learning environment must be controled by teachers.
At this point punishment is more effective than a word.

Second, teachers have responsibility to put their students on theright paths in life.
Teenagers go through a stormy pjeriod of adolescence, and they could be pulled in the wrong life direction.
These students don’t listen words. So corporal punishment is needed.
And corporal punishment is necessary to enhance the authority of teachers.
As a matter of fact, Punishment is prohibited in some Seoul region.
Thus morality, as well as learning have an influence on students.
Let’s see the opposite point of view on punishment.
First, the problem is the seriousness of corporal punishment
Punishment is not a bond of love, but turns into a bad emotional violence to students.

These things must not happen.
Second, punishment, for adjusting students correctly, may instead be harmful to their actions.
And they have human rights.
It is not respectful of the human rights of students that students to punish them unconditionally even though they do a small wrong .
School punishment has recently become an issue in society.
We shouldn’t decide that it is necessary or not. But to find the compromise plan that is the best way to solve this problem.

1. corporal punishment
the physical punishment of people, especially of children by hitting them
2. Human rights
the basic rights which it is generally considered all people shuld have, such as justice and the freedom to say what you think

3. adolescence
the period time in a person’s life when they are developing into an adult.
4. authority
