1. Two Telephone Conversations

Conversation One

Student A: You are a math teacher. You collected homework today in class. During your conversation, you spill your coffee. Interrupt and Restart your conversation.

Student B: You are a student. You were absent from class today. You want to give your homework to your teacher. You call your teacher to ask if you can meet tomorrow in the teacher’s office. Begin the conversation with “Ring, ring.”

Conversation Two

Student A: You won a writing contest. The prize was two free tickets to a movie. You want to invite your friend (Student B) to come with you. You call your friend. Begin the conversation with “Ring, ring.”

Student B: You are Student A’s friend. During your conversation, a delivery boy arrives at the door with a pizza. Interrupt and Restart your conversation.


2. Describing Four Things

Each student describes two of the things below. The other student listens and then guesses what it is. (Therefore, four items in total.)

dog // hammer // microwave oven // weird // parent // radio // cloud // Canada // shoe // hair // clock // suitcase // car // snow // accident // news // ghost // bird


3. Expressing Probability

Student A asks Student B two of the questions below. Student B answers by Expressing Probability in a complete sentence.

Student B asks Student A two of the questions below. Student A answers by Expressing Probability in a complete sentence.
(Therefore, four questions in total.)

– Do you think you’ll visit another country this year?
– Do you think you’ll take a vacation this summer?
– Do you think you’ll live in another country someday?
– Do you think you’ll look for a job this year?
– Do you think you’ll live in the same home for the rest of your life?
– Do you think you’ll ever be rich?


4. Two Discussion Questions

Student A asks Student B a question.

Student B asks Student A a question.

Choose the questions from the list with your class number.

. Which country would you recommend most to visit? Why?

. Which items (e.g. which clothes) do you think match well with burgundy? Why?

. If you could have a super-power, which super-power would you like to have? (e.g. be able to fly, be able to heal quickly, etc.) Why?

. Which animals do you like? Why?

. What is your favorite place around Inha University? Why is it your favorite?

. What place would you recommend visiting? Why would you recommend it?

. What do you think are some of the problems with drinking alcohol?

. Why do you think many people like to climb mountains?

. Why do people like the World Cup?

. From amongst curry, sushi, kimchi, and “moon-cakes”, what is your favorite food? Why?

. If you were an inventor, what product would you make? Why?

. Which festival would you be interested in going to? Why?

. What did you think about Inha University’s “libdubical”? Why?

. What kind of super-power would you want? Why?

. Why do you think Psy gained popularity?

. If you could pick an entertainer to do the first pitch, who would you pick? Why?

. If you could make a new application for university, what would you make? Why?

_____ Class 117 _____

. Which of the 4 cruel fairy tales did you like best? Why?

. Do you like Apple? What is your favorite Apple product? Why is it your favorite?

. What do you think is the best station on subway line #4? Why?

. What’s your favorite kind of ghost? Why?

. If we were to make a 100,000-won bill, who would be the most appropriate person to put on it? Why?

. What world-famous snack do you want to eat? Why?

. What do you usually do at Christmas? Why?

_____ Class 147 _____

. Do you think we can make a time machine? If we could make a time machine, what would you want to do?

. Which place in Korea would you want to travel to most? Why?

. Do you like alcohol? Why or why not?

. Who’s your favorite rapper? Why?

. If you wanted to make mixed-fruit juice, what kinds of fruits would you want to mix? Why?

. What’s your favorite extreme sport? Why is it your favorite?

. What’s your favorite movie? Why?



  1. Thank you for the information. But, I have a question.
    In the case of ‘Two Telephone Conversations’ , I wonder that the final test will questions to us only above 2 situations.
    Is that right? (I don’t know If i write correctly…^___^)

    • You do both conversations. Remember that if you are Student A in Conversation #1, you must also be Student A in Conversation #2.

        Who is student A?
        Do you mean ‘we can choose it.’ or ‘we are assigned to Student A’?

  2. Will we be test on that question? For example, Will we describe one of the things like “dog” exactly? Or we describe another vocabulary that Professor gives?

    • You can reply with one sentence that uses a “Expressing Probability” expression.
