Hello everyone, we are group 7. We will introduce kinds of drinks, manners when we drink, methods to relieve the hangovers and the pub foods that are well matched with each drinks. There are so many kinds of drinks that we can’t introduce all kinds of drinks to you. So we selects some typical kinds of drinks.
First one that we will introduce is Vodka. [1]Vodka is a distilled beverage composed primarily of water and ethanol, sometimes with traces of impurities and flavorings. Vodka is traditionally drunk neat in the vodka belt countries of Eastern Europe and around the Baltic Sea. It is also commonly used in cocktails and mixed drinks. Usually when people drink vodka, they eat fruits as pub foods. There are no especial manners when we drink vodka. But if you drink vodka, you should drink it slowly and little. Because vodka’s alcohol content is so high that you can be easily drunken. And someone said that is the reason that Rusian people die earlier than the other country’s people. Of course it is not scientific….

Second is wine. [2]Wine is alcoholic beverage made from fermented grapes or other fruits. Mainly wines are produced in Italy and France. There are 4 kinds of wines. First, red wine is the most famous kind. Their color is red and they are well-matched with meats, cheese, pasta and pizza. Second, white wine. Their color is white and they are well-matched with fresh fruits, fish cooks and cheese. Third, sparkling wine. Their color is various but mostly they are ivory color. It has carbonic acid and it is usually called as champagne. They are usually drunken in the parties. Fourth, ice wine. They are usually drunken as desserts. Third is beer. [3]Beer is an alcoholic beverage produced by wheat’s and barley’s fermentation. Beer is the world’s most widely consumed alcoholic beverage. Beer is usually consumed with the fried cooks like potato chips and fried chicken. But people drink beer with many foods and also without food. And their alcohol degrees are usually low, so many people like beer. Germany’s beer is really famous. And we can see people drinking beer on the streets in Germany. There are no especial manners when we drink beer. Its price is more expensive than soju. Beer has carbonic acid so when we drink beer, we can feel cool and fresh. That’s the reason that many people drink beer as a cold state. Beer is classified as two kinds. One is draft beer and the other one is bottle beer. Difference between them is a process of manufacture. If you do heat treatment to the beer in the end of the process, then you can produce bottle beer, and if you don’t, then you can produce draft beer.

Fourth is soju. [4] It is traditionally made from rice, wheat, or barley, but modern producers of soju use supplements or even replace rice with other starches, such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, or tapioca. Soju is clear and colorless. And Korean people’s most famous drink is soju. Its alcohol content varies from 16.7% to 40%. Korean people drink soju regardless of kinds of pub foods. Soju is well-matched with soups, barbecues, rice, noodles and all kinds of foods. When we drink soju with people that are more aged than us, there are some manners we have to follow. First, when they pull soju to us, we have to grab the glass with two hands. Second, when we drink soju, we have to turn our heads. Third, when we pull their glass, we have to grab the bottle with two hands. Fourth, when we crash the glass, our glass must be lower than their glass.
Now we will introduce the methods to relieve the hangovers depends on the contries. In Korea, people usually eat hot and spicy soup. But some people(in korea) drink alcohol again to relieve the hangovers. In Poland, people drink milk or yoghurt to relieve. In U.S.A people drink honey water. In Greece, people eat butter. In China, people eat raw eggs. In Russia, people take a bath.
